Hussaini Youth Conference at Bangalore, Moulana Syed Mohammed Zaki Baqri, Canada calls for such conferences in the near future.

At the invitation of Al-Balagh Organization-India represented by Moulana Syed Mohammed Tasdeeq and Moulana Syed Manzoor Raza, a youth conference was held on July 26th and 27th, 2002 at Bangalore. The agenda for the symposium was “Youth and their problems”. An attendance of youth from all over Karnataka was observed at the summit.

The two-day conference started with Qirath-E-Qur’an followed by speeches from intellectuals who had gathered for the occasion.

Dr. Ali Khawaja; career councillor; Banjara Academy, Mr. Afham Raza; Managing Director Advanced Ferro cements and Mr. Mirza Mohammed Mehdi; President; Imamia Education & Welfare Trust shared their thoughts and experiences, which were acclaimed by one and all. Later an informal get-together followed by the screening of an Iranian film ended the day’s show.

Day two commenced with a brief note by the convener, Maulana Syed Mohammed Tasdeeq. He emphasized the need for a responsible and educated youth to fight the forces of evil, which are hovering above our community.

Vice-President; Bosch group and Hujjatul Islam Maulana Syed Mohammed Zaki Baqri; Canada, chief guest for the summit. Maulana Zaki Baquri addressing the delegates said:

Conferences like these bring about a sense of unity, brotherhood and self-reliance where one recognizes himself and tries to bring about a change in his surroundings. Therefore we need such summits in the near future which will bring about a spiritual awakening"

Stressing on the importance of education he said:

To remain illiterate would put us all to shame since we are the followers of Babul Ilm Moula Ali ('a)”

Later he spoke on the various programs being carried out for the youth in different parts of the world. He stressed the use of advanced tools of communication such an Internet etc. to create a link with their different counterparts.

Apart from that, he had an informal meeting with ulemas and heads of various Anjumans of Karnataka. He apprised them of the consequences of the youth being astray. He cited some examples from the U.S., Europe etc. He also said that girls have to be a part of this movement otherwise the wheel of progress would collapse.

At the end of the day, the participants took home the message of unity, brotherhood, spirituality and echoing the theme of the conference: “The Spiritual Awakening”.
